A Lush, Intimate Exploration of Home, Memory, and Identity

Emerging Brooklyn-based artist Sirota announces her upcoming EP Cia Cia, a deeply personal body of work that blends modern pop, jazz, and singer-songwriter sensibilities into a cinematic exploration of home, grief, and self-understanding.

Named after a childhood nickname given to her by her grandmother, “Cia Cia” (pronounced cha-cha), the project serves as both a tribute and a return. Following a move back to her childhood home in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and in the wake of unexpected familial loss, Sirota found herself drawn inward, revisiting the people, places, and memories that shaped her.

“It’s about coming home,” she says. “Both in a physical and figurative sense.”

The already released single “Earthworms” offers a first glimpse into this world, pairing inventive visual storytelling with a grounded, quietly introspective sonic palette. Additional tracks like “Well-Adjusted!” and “Surprise Yourself” expand the emotional and stylistic range of the project, balancing self-awareness with a sense of openness and discovery.

Visually, Cia Cia is equally rooted in memory and texture. The project draws from family archives and home video footage, with Sirota collaborating closely with her creative circle, including producer Austin Yoder, director Monisha Roychoudhury, and director of cinematography Tyler Cino Maradiaga, to build a world that feels both personal and cinematic.

Cia Cia is available for streaming on all major platforms on April 28.

Blending warm alternative R&B, 70’s mellow-gold, and bedroom pop with intimate lyricism, Cia Cia positions Sirota within a new generation of artists redefining classic sounds through a modern, deeply personal lens. Across the EP, she moves fluidly between playful and reflective moments, allowing humor, grief, curiosity, and tenderness to coexist.

Cia Cia is available for streaming on all major platforms on April 28.
