‘All The Time We Spent’ Marks Olivia Dolphin’s Expansive Winter Return
A sweeping, orchestral indie-pop project examining the small moments that define love, loss, and everything in between.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (December 4, 2025) — New England-based songwriter and rising “witch-pop” frontwoman Olivia Dolphin returns this winter with All The Time We Spent, a five-track EP that deepens her signature blend of open-hearted storytelling and cinematic arrangements. Out December 11, the project expands the world Dolphin established on her celebrated 2024 release Better. This time with a warmer, more intimate lens and a heavier emphasis on orchestral-rock textures.
Led by singles “Lost” and “I… I…”, the EP tracks the emotional spectrum of relationships: the quiet reflection after heartbreak, the rush of a new crush, the friction of a hard conversation, and the strange tenderness of knowing someone so fully that they feel like both stranger and anchor at once.
Dolphin describes All The Time We Spent as a collection shaped by the “small magics” of daily life. Moments so ordinary they become sacred. “It’s the last dregd of brine from a dirty martini, the jam-stained crumbs on a charcuterie board, the text from the person you wanted to hear from most,” she says. “This EP looks past surface emotion and into what’s underneath.”
The project pulls inspiration from Lucy Dacus, Brandi Carlile’s symphonic work, Arcade Fire, Ingrid Michaelson, St. Vincent, and Laura Stevenson. The result is Dolphin’s most ambitious arrangement yet.
“Lost” was written in the aftermath of deep sadness, with an unguarded meditation on how love and loss define each other. “What is love without loss, and what is loss without love?” she asks. “I… I…” was born during a period when she felt she “couldn’t say anything right.” The track captures the stumbles, the resets, the breath you take before trying again. “Do You See It Too” masquerades as a classic love song until you realize it’s actually about the friendships that witness our crushes. “Storm Warning” revisits the self-awareness that defined her first album. “Cross” delivers one of the EP’s most explosive moments, including Dolphin’s highest belt on record.
“Lost felt like the right first step because it’s softer than people might expect from me,” Dolphin says. “After Better, which was full of bangers, I wanted to open this era with something vulnerable.” On the other hand, “I… I…” has been one of her most anticipated studio recordings, finally giving fans the full orchestral and string arrangements she and the band could never replicate live. Both tracks introduce the EP’s central question: “Was it worth it, in the end? All the time we spent?” Each song examines a different angle of that emotional geometry.

2025 has been a landmark year for Dolphin and her band. They were embraced by the New England music community, winning Motif Magazine’s Battle of the Bands and earning a Motif Award for Favorite Album for Better. The group also received five New England Music Award nominations — winning Rising Star: Rhode Island — including Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Performer of the Year, and Pop Act of the Year.
“Providence lets me reflect back the magic the city gives me,” Dolphin says. “This EP may be shorter, but it’s packed with moments—musically, lyrically, emotionally. I think it’s going to propel us into a really exciting year of shows.”
