Steinsdotter and Lovec Mx Unite on Hypnotic Cross-Cultural Dance Single “LDN Calling CDMX”
LONDON, UK (September 1, 2025) – London-based experimental artist Steinsdotter returns next month with “LDN Calling CDMX,” a hypnotizing, border-blurring collaboration with Mexico City’s rising voice Lovec Mx. Set for release on September 30, the single fuses Steinsdotter’s signature club-ready electronics with Lovec Mx’s soulful, street-honed lyricism.
Written during Steinsdotter’s recent stay in Mexico, “LDN Calling CDMX” is a sonic dialogue between two creative worlds. “Within my first five minutes of landing in Mexico City, I bumped into Lovec, who was a complete stranger at the time,” Steinsdotter recalls. “I immediately realized how incredibly talented and wise he is.” The two then spent days together at a home studio where they wrote songs, dissected philosophy, and bonded over the healing power of music. This new single drifts between pulsing, atmospheric beats and raw, magnetic verses, crafting what Steinsdotter calls “a dance between our cities.”
For Lovec Mx, music has been a lifelong undercurrent. From childhood ranchera sing-alongs with his father and uncle to teaching himself production through YouTube videos, Lovec Mx’s journey has been anything but conventional. A psychology student and Muay Thai practitioner, he’s worked as a bellboy, barber, and salesman, sung on trucks, and remodeled homes, all while shaping a self-taught sound rooted in rap, reggae, Afrohouse, and beyond. His mission is as personal as it is universal: to raise consciousness, share good energy, and heal through music.
On “LDN Calling CDMX,” that purpose meets Steinsdotter’s deep command of the dance floor. This single serves as Steinsdotter’s first Spanish/English release, with more to come. “I love collaborating with artists from all over the world, from every genre or background; it is a gift only music could give me,” the London artist says. Together, the two stretch the edges of genre, geography, and language to deliver a track that’s both transportive and undeniably human.
